Consummate Athlete / Peter Glassford Training Plans for Bikepacking
Want to get in shape for a bikepacking adventure or do you best to nail a FKT? Let Registered Kinesiologist and Chartered Professional Endurance Coach Peter Glassford design a personalized program to help you reach your goals.
1) 3 Month Training Plan
Base Phase for Off-road athletes who are greater than 3 months away from their event. This is our best selling plan that builds your general fitness before taking on a more specific training plan for your bike adventures. This plan includes more workouts designed for the indoor trainer, encourages more strength training and cross-training. Many workouts include 'structured downloads' to sync with Zwift/Garmin etc.

2) Specific Training for Bike Packing - 2-3 months away
This is a 10 week plan that builds your specific fitness for a bike packing adventure in the final 2-3 months before your adventure. It includes a final 2 weeks for your ride and suggestions for tapering your training down to recover and prepare for the challenge. This plan has been used by people who have finished 1-2 week bike packing trips, long weekend trips and even higher intensity 'FKT' or fast-bike-packs.
You can use this plan by HR, Power or RPE - you do not need to use downloads. Each workout includes a description that allows for completion of the key elements of the workout without using data, if that is your preference. The plan ranges between 6-16 hours a week depending on whether you extend workouts and do optional workouts (or not!). Options to extend are noted and are your description based on your schedule, fitness and goals.
If you have a more variable schedule, are planning something extreme or ambitious it is best to book a phone consultation and/or a custom 3-Month Training Plan to better address your ability and goals.
