Bikepacking Route Files

Picture
There is a small fee to access the route files from BT Bikepacking. This is to ensure the routes stay up-to-date and to help cover the costs incurred to develop and then maintain these routes. Once these routes are created, it’s a large task and a major time commitment to steward them. This includes populating each route file with all the necessary information, including accommodation and food options. These route files are very thorough. Some may try to avoid paying by using route files sourced from elsewhere, but often these are out-of-date and not accurate, leading to a less satisfactory riding experience. Every purchase supports bikepacking in Ontario and beyond.

The price for each of the following routes is $25. This price is per route file and per rider. Please don’t share route files.

The purchased file for each route includes:
  • Accurate GPS tracks in various forms (GPX, TCX, etc.)
  • Numerous Points of Interest (POIs) from various categories, including accommodation and food options.
  • Access to route updates if any changes are made to the route file.
This is an example of what your detailed route file will be. As you can see, there is lots of information to make your bikepacking trip easier to plan and execute.

If you are interested in any of these routes, you can use PayPal or Interac

e-Transfer (send funds to mattkadey@gmail.com) to make a payment for a route file. You do not need a PayPal account to pay using this service. I can also receive funds via WISE, which works for sending payments from outside Canada. WISE can offer better rates when using foreign currency and sending payments from outside of Canada. (The email associated with the WISE account is mattkadey@gmail.com). If you can’t send funds using any of these methods, please contact me, and we can try to work out another method.

Once payment has been made, I will send you the requested route file to the email address provided in your payment.

If possible, please allow a few days between your route file request and when you need to use it for navigation.

Go to Navigation for tips on how to use the route files for your journey.

Ideally, you will have a Ride with GPS account (free or paid) to access these route files and navigate with them. However, if you are using another program such as Kamoot for routing, I can provide gps route files that you can use with alternative platforms.

Once you have purchased and received the route file, you will then be notified via Ride with GPS when the route files are updated. To get this notification, the route must be downloaded to your personal Ride with GPS account. Please mark any downloaded routes as "private." You only need to purchase a route file once per season, as you will have access to the most up-to-date route file during this time.
